UCL Presents: ‘Islam Uncovered – Have Your Say’ (with Abdullah al Andalusi and dynamic audience participation)
Event Description:
Does Islam oppress women? Can Islam be fundamentally compatible with our modern world today? Is Islam a religion of peace?
Today in the West, some people portray Islam as an obsolete religion, posing a threat to contemporary values. This has subjected Islam to misinterpretation, presenting it as a religion that has no place in this modern world today.
As part of Discover Islam Week 2017, we invite you to join us for our flagship lecture to address and explore the themes of women’s rights in Islam, internal struggle and Islam’s compatibility with modern life. We aim to debunk the widely held myths and misconceptions surrounding these topics, alongside a panel Q&A and thought provoking discussions with any questions YOU may have.
This event is FREE and open to everyone, so do bring along anyone who may be interested!
