Debate: ‘Is Jesus the God-Man?’ (Shadid Lewis debates Matt Slick)

On 16th April 2015, in Atlanta, USA, MDI USA’s Shadid Lewis debated renowned Christian apologist, Matt Slick, the President and Founder of the Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry, on the time honoured classical subject between Muslims and Christians: ‘Is Jesus the God-Man?’. The ‘God-Man’ concept is a Christian concept that attempts to reconcile Jesus ‘as a human being’, with  the Christian belief of ‘Jesus as God’. Watch the accomplished Shadid Lewis engage the experienced Matt Slick on this classic Muslim-Christian debate topic.

  1. Hi
I have seen a few of Shahid’s debates and frankly he doesn’t have the depth to deal with some of the heavies of the Christian faith.

I would like to ask a couple of questions

    1. Did Prophet Muhammad ever read the Injeel?

    2. In the light of Matthew 23:34 who is Jesus Christ?

Mat 23:33 Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
Mat 23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:
Mat 23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.
Mat 23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

    • I disagree, he can easily debate those ‘heavier’ folks, his arguements and logic were solid. And if we get down to it the bible is not verbatim word of God, and can be disproven in beign written by men, none of whom was jesus.

      • The injeel was not perserved for Prophet muhammad to read it, prophet muhammad’s knowledge came from directly God, via angel gabriel and also he wa snot isolated so he did interact with many people and had knowledge of christian things.

    • 1. Prophet Muhammad was unlettered therefore he would not have read the Injeel. The prophecy was thus fulfilled that he will not say from himself except what God Almighty has given him.
2.It is very clear that Jesus Christ was not the only righteous prophet that had blood spilt. Will all those prophets be now called God who had blood spilt and had died “whom ye slew between the temple and the alter”
