Progression of Islam clothing vs regression of Western clothing

Tawakkul Karman

‘A leading figure of Yemen’s revolution,’ when asked about her Hijab by journalists replied: “Man in early times was almost naked, and as his intellect evolved he started wearing clothes. What I am today and what I’m wearing represents the highest level of thought and civilization that man has achieved, and is not regressive. It’s the removal of clothes again that is a regression back to the ancient times”

  1. I do not agree with her , suppose as time goes by and as we grow more intellectually should we cover ourself more and more and become invisible !

So one day we will end up covering ourself from head to toe , what nonsense is this ?

God in the Quran has never directed to cover from face to toe , it is a pure invention which Muslim have brought upon themself !

    • God in the Quran asks the female Muslim believers to cover their bodies with “khimaar” which means head covering and makes an emphasis to covering their “bosoms” which means the chest/breasts. Also, God commands the believing Muslim women to wear a jilbab (loose outer garment). Therefore, it is not a Muslim invention like you claim. Proof?

Here are the Quranic verses referring to covering:

“Say to the believing women that: they should cast down their glances and guard their private parts (by being chaste) and not display their beauty except what is apparent, and they should place their khumur over their bosoms…” Surah 21/30

Khumurخُمُرٌ is plural of khimarخِمَارٌ, the veil covering the head.

      Secondly,

“O Prophet! Say to your wives, your daughters, and the women of the believers that: they should let down upon themselves their jalabib.” Surah 33/59

Jalabibجَلاَبِيْبٌis the plural of jilbabجِلْبَابٌ, which means a loose outer garment.

It can be hard for some people to comprehend why anyone would want to cover thus the expression: “If you’ve got it, flaunt it”. First of all, in Islam, arrogance and showing off is abhorred.

Secondly, a woman is the more attractive of the two sexes although men need to cover their bodies also.

God created women like beautiful pearls that need to be covered, protected and respected and not like cheap commodities who’s only purpose in life is to serve men’s sexual desires.

Surely being judged for your mind rather than your body, is in my opinion, much more dignified. Indeed, the more civilised, the more clothes one wears. Or do you think page 3 girls are the epitome of civilisation?!

      • It is notable that secular Westerners often describe immodestly-dressed women as “looking cheap”, which suggests that they still value modesty even though they can’t bring themselves to admit it.

  2. Desire YOU HAVE NO KNOWLEDGE IN ISLAM SO DON`T MAKE ANY STATEMENT THAT WILL SHOW JUST HOW EMPTY YOUR BRAIN…. IF YOU HAVE USE IT RATIONALLY
