It’s become quite common to hear Christian apologists claiming that Islam is an anti-Semitic religion. This off course is yet another game of them trying to put the wool over the eyes of the audience, because if anyone wants to talk about anti-Semitism, one need not look further than the New Testament, yes, I said the New Testament, therefore these apologists won’t have worn out excuse of trying to run away from the Old Testament.
If we want to talk about anti-Semitism, how’s this for you:
John 8:37-44: I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God. Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
So according to these passages straight from the Gospel of John, Jesus calls the Jews in attendance, the son of the devil! Jesus also accuses them of following the lusts of their father, the devil, who wants to murder, and lie. So Jesus calls the Jews the sons of the devil, and characterizes them as murderers, and liars.
Another highly anti-Semitic teaching comes from the book of Revelations, which seems to carry on from this teaching, i.e. liking the Jews to the devil:
Revelations 3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
So according to the book of Revelations, those who say they are Jews, actually belong to the Synagogue of satan! So the New Testament calls the Jews the sons of the devil, as well as belonging to the Synagogue of the devil. But off course there’s nothing to see here, yes, it’s Islam that’s the anti-Semitic religion according to the Christian apologists.
We’re not done just yet, next we have one of the most incriminating anti-Semitic texts in history, a text that many scholars trace as the actual root cause of anti-Semitism and persecution towards the Jews, and the text comes from the Gospel of Matthew:
Matthew 27:25-30: Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children. Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified. Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.
So according to these passages, the Jews in attendance openly say that the blood of Jesus be upon them, and their children as well. Basically the blood of Jesus is upon the Jews of his day and the generations that come afterward.
Now I’m sure there will be a whole list of excuses to come from the Christian apologists, which will simply illustrate their lovely double standards, I mean could you imagine what they would do if such passages existed in the Quran? Could you imagine the rhetoric coming from them had the Quran labeled the Jews the sons of Satan etc?
