I recently gave a lecture on October 6th, 2015, at the International Conference on “Islam, Science and Sustainable Development: Maqasid al-Shari‘ah and Humanity’s Well-being” on the topic of littering — particularly in Malaysia. I offered solutions based on a Maqasidi approach, emphasizing the concept of khalifa.
