Debate: Sharia vs Secular Law – which is Fairer? [Sydney, Australia, 18th September 2015]

MDI’s Abdullah Al Andalusi, who is still on his exciting tour in Australia, will be having his SECOND Australian debate this week.

He will be debating the President of the Atheist Foundation of Australia, Michael Boyd, on the very lively topic ‘Sharia Law vs Secular Law: which is fairer?’

Oh? You thought this matter was settled? Think again. In a world that cries for rights, justice and complete 4G coverage, but still can’t seem to strike that balance, we haven’t all yet agreed upon what the best way is to organise society. Should it change with the times? Can we, the masses, really be trusted to know what society’s best interest are? Is there only one answer?

As part of the university’s Islam Awareness Week FINALE, Abdullah al Andalusi and Michael Boyd will present their cases for the Shari`a and Secular Government respectively in a REVOLUTIONARY new debate/cross examination/verbal surgery/rhetorical fumigation format that is guaranteed to bring us the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me, God!

Location: G03, Ainsworth, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia 2052

Date: Friday 18th September 2015 @ 6pm

Refreshments will be served.
