Muslims must rationally reject the Bible according to Answering-Islam

Share

One of Answering-Islam’s many writers, Dallas Roark, wrote an article some time ago critiquing Islam in a titled piece Is Islam rational?

The irony of this article is that all it ended up doing was refuting his own holy text, and giving Muslims a reason to object, and reject the Bible.

This is what he writes:

Would you like for your kids to be captured and sold into slavery in some strange country? Would you like for your wife to be captured, sold into slavery,  raped and coerced into sex?  Of course not, you say. Rational Muslims should object to these practices.

So according to Mr. Dallas, rational Muslims must reject slavery, as well as children being sold into slavery, wives being captured, and being raped. Well we agree with Mr. Dallas, we obviously reject these things, but here is where Mr. Dallas has created his own problems. Mr. Dallas has inadvertently called on Muslims to rationally reject the Bible, because everything he mentions is found in the Bible, being condoned and ordered by his own God:

Slavery in the Bible:

However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you.  You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land.  You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritanceYou may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way.  (Leviticus 25:44-46)

Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ. (Ephesians 6:5)

Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God. (Colossians 3:22)

Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed. (1 Timothy 6:1)

Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again; Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things. (Titus 2:9-10)

Capturing Wives and taking them for yourself:

When thou comest nigh unto a city to fight against it, then proclaim peace unto it. And it shall be, if it make thee answer of peace, and open unto thee, then it shall be, that all the people that is found therein shall be tributaries unto thee, and they shall serve thee. And if it will make no peace with thee, but will make war against thee, then thou shalt besiege it: And when the LORD thy God hath delivered it into thine hands, thou shalt smite every male thereof with the edge of the sword: But the women, and the little ones, and the cattle, and all that is in the city, even all the spoil thereof, shalt thou take unto thyself; and thou shalt eat the spoil of thine enemies, which the LORD thy God hath given thee. (Deuteronomy 20:10-14)

Anyone who is captured will be run through with a sword. Their little children will be dashed to death right before their eyes. Their homes will be sacked and their wives raped by the attacking hordes. For I will stir up the Medes against Babylon, and no amount of silver or gold will buy them off. The attacking armies will shoot down the young people with arrows. They will have no mercy on helpless babies and will show no compassion for the children. (Isaiah 13:15-18)

Selling Children into slavery:

When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are.If she does not please the man who bought her, he may allow her to be bought back again. But he is not allowed to sell her to foreigners, since he is the one who broke the contract with her. And if the slave girl's owner arranges for her to marry his son, he may no longer treat her as a slave girl, but he must treat her as his daughter. If he himself marries her and then takes another wife, he may not reduce her food or clothing or fail to sleep with her as his wife. If he fails in any of these three ways, she may leave as a free woman without making any payment. (Exodus 21:7-11)

But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity. (Deuteronomy 28: 15, 41)

Conclusion

So we now ask Mr. Dallas, will he rationally reject his own holy Bible? Mr. Dallas must be consistent, he clearly wrote that expects Muslims to rationally reject such things, and these such things are in the Bible, therefore Muslims must rationally reject the Bible, there’s no 2 ways about this.

That is unless off course Mr. Dallas now objects and displays his double standards, maybe Mr. Dallas will argue and say yes everybody should rationally reject slavery, capturing women and taking them for yourself, unless it’s in the Bible!

This only demonstrates how inconsistent Christian apologists are, and to be quite frank, intellectually dishonest as well. They will argue against such things as slavery, capturing women and so forth, but when these things are in their Bible ordained by their own God, they think it suddenly becomes okay and will justify it, what kind of moral intellectual bankruptcy is this? How can you take such people seriously?

In the words of Sam Shamoun, one of Answering-Islam’s most notable authors, he wrote the following concerning God’s order to the Israelites to wipe out the people and nations living in the land of Palestine:

The foregoing shows that the nations such as Egypt had been privy to the supernatural signs and wonders that God was performing. Yet instead of heeding these signs and repenting, many of them such as the Canaanites decided to remain obstinate in their unbelief and defy God by fighting against his covenant people. Thus, God was completely justified in demanding their complete annihilation in light of their willful disobedience and defiance. (http://www.answeringislam.net/Shamoun/q_amalekites.htm)

So this is exactly the type of intellectual dishonesty we are talking about. These Christian apologists will go on about how evil and violent Islam supposedly is, yet when it comes to all the violence and all out genocide ordained by their God in their own Bible, it suddenly becomes justified, how can you take these people seriously?
