The Quran is the word of God according to the Bible

Share

In this article we shall highlight how the Quran is indeed the word of God, and a book of righteousness, per the Bible itself.

We start with 1 John 4:1-6 which says:

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to determine if they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses Jesus as the Christ who has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God, and this is the spirit of the antichrist, that you have heard is coming, and now is already in the world. You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world's perspective and the world listens to them. We are from God; the person who knows God listens to us, but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of deceit." 1 John 4:1-6

According to 1 John anyone who confesses that Jesus is the Christ-Messiah is from God, that they are a good person, and that they are not an anti-Christ.

Now according to the Quran we read the following:

003.045 Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah;

The Quran calls Jesus the Christ, the Messiah, hence according to the Bible the Quran must be of God since it confirms that Jesus is the Christ. The Bible itself uses this as a criteria to tell the falsehood apart from the truth, those that confess that Jesus is the Christ, is of God, while those that don’t are the false prophets and the anti-Christ. Islam confirms that Jesus is the Messiah, and so it passes the criteria test of being the truth.

Our next piece of evidence comes from 3 John chapter 1 verse 11 which says the following:

Dear friend, do not imitate what is evil but what is good. Anyone who does what is good is from God. Anyone who does what is evil has not seen God. (3rdJohn 1:11)

So according to the Bible anyone who does something good is of God, well, the Quran is full of instructions which command Muslims to do good things, Muhammad (AS) the prophet of Islam did many good things, which means he is of God, and which thereby means the Quran is also of God.

Here are some of the many good teachings from the Quran:

To those weak of understanding Make not over your property, which Allah hath made a means of support for you, but feed and clothe them therewith, and speak to them words of kindness and justice. (4:5)

To orphans restore their property (When they reach their age), nor substitute (your) worthless things for (their) good ones; and devour not their substance (by mixing it up) with your own. For this is indeed a great sin. (4:2)

Kill not your children for fear of want: We shall provide sustenance for them as well as for you. Verily the killing of them is a great sin. (17:31)

Say: "Come, I will rehearse what Allah hath (really) prohibited you from": Join not anything as equal with Him; be good to your parents; kill not your children on a plea of want;- We provide sustenance for you and for them;- come not nigh to shameful deeds. Whether open or secret; take not life, which Allah hath made sacred, except by way of justice and law: thus doth He command you, that ye may learn wisdom. (6:151)

Nor can goodness and Evil be equal. Repel (Evil) with what is better: Then will he between whom and thee was hatred become as it were thy friend and intimate! (41:34)

The Believers, men and women, are protectors one of another: they enjoin what is just, and forbid what is evil: they observe regular prayers, practice regular charity, and obey Allah and His Messenger. On them will Allah pour His mercy: for Allah is Exalted in power, Wise. (9:71)

And spend something (in charity) out of the substance which We have bestowed on you, before Death should come to any of you and he should say, "O my Lord! why didst Thou not give me respite for a little while? I should then have given (largely) in charity, and I should have been one of the doers of good". (63:10)

The last piece of evidence comes from Mark chapter 3 verses 22-26:

And the teachers of the law who came down from Jerusalem said, "He is possessed by Beelzebub! By the prince of demons he is driving out demons." So Jesus called them and spoke to them in parables: "How can Satan drive out Satan? If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand. And if Satan opposes himself and is divided, he cannot stand; his end has come.

What happened here was that Jesus’ opponents were accusing him of using the devils help in performing his miracles, so it wasn’t that Jesus was a true prophet or man of God, but rather the reason he performed such miracles was because the devil was helping him. Jesus responds back by pointing to the absurdity of their argument, arguing how can Satan oppose himself, as Jesus’ teachings were against Satan, so was Satan making Jesus work against Satan, thereby in fact working against himself?

We can now apply this same logic to the Quran, for if anyone reads the Quran, one will find a multitude of verses that speak against Satan, condemning Satan, and labeling Satan as an open enemy. Per Jesus’ logic, the Quran therefore cannot be from the devil because it would make no sense for the devil to introduce revelations that speak against the devil, as a divided kingdom shall fall.

Here are the Quranic passages that speak against the devil:

Surah 2:168

O mankind! Eat of that which is lawful and wholesome in the earth, and follow not the footsteps of the devil. Lo! he is an open enemy for you.

Surah 16:98

And when thou recitest the Qur'an, seek refuge in Allah from Satan the outcast.

Surah 36:60

Did I not charge you, O ye sons of Adam, that ye worship not the devil - Lo! he is your open foe!

So biblically speaking, the Quran cannot be from the devil, nor is it satanic.

In conclusion, the Quran is the word of God, is a word of truth, and a word of righteousness, and all according to the Bible.
